DR. KENNETH MAXWELL MACDONALD

DR. KENNETH MAXWELL MACDONALD Born in Saskatchewan, moved to Ontario, and back to Saskatchewan for his basic education. Graduating in Manitoba with a BSc., and Alberta in Dentistry. He practiced in Portage la Prairie, in Bissett, Winnipeg, and then with the City of Winnipeg Health Department in charge of the Children Emergency Clinic. Ken always had many hobbies and sports. He did carpentry, stained glass, and gardening. Also for many years he bred and raised many types of parrots. In Saskatoon he learned to play the bagpipes with the Saskatoon Light Infantry Reserve continuing to play with the Shrine band and the Anavet band. He met and married the love of his life Eleanor at the Winnipeg Canoe Club where they participated in racquet sports, swimming, and canoeing. With a house trailer they camped and canoed in Manitoba and Saskatchewan for many summers. For the past number of years he was an active member of the Wellness Center. Ken and Eleanor enjoyed many great holidays from Venezuela, Barbados, Mexico, Hawaii; as well as many cities in the U.S.A. as well as Canada, and also an Alaskan cruise. He will be missed by his wife Eleanor; brother-in-law Ron; his brother Keith (Ruby); his sister Euna; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Eunice and Earl; sisters, Margaret (Bruce), Earla (Dave); as well as his brother-in-law Syd. Service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2017, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Heart Research or the Seven Oaks General Hospital Renal Health Clinic.
