Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE MARIE GLAAB 1928 - 2017 While these earthly bounds have lost a "loving, ever welcoming, strong, resilient, gentle, calm, gypsy-like, silver fox" (all adjectives from her grandkids and great-grandkids), Heaven on the other hand, has gained a very special, loving angel to watch over us. Rose Marie Glaab, passed away with her loving family by her side on May 6, 2017 at the Grace Hospital.Marie was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Harry Hardy, son Stephen, and infant granddaughter Robyn and husband Jack. Marie met and married the love of her life, Jack Glaab. They were married on May 11, 1946, in Leeds England. Following the war, Dad was shipped home and Mom joined the hundreds of other strong courageous war brides on the long trip to start her new life with Dad in Stratford, Ontario. Mom was the glue that held our family together, she was a loving wife, mother and nana. Family meant everything to her. Her world revolved around Dad, her children and especially her grandchildren. She was so supportive, our greatest cheerleader and proud of our accomplishments. Mom was a great lover of animals, from her dogs, Desi and Sami, her cat Allie, to her trips to the zoo especially to see Debbie and Hudson. Mom is survived by her daughters, Mickie (Del), Margot (Ryan) and Celeste, her much adored grandchildren; Philip (Osana), Kelly, Jodee (Kristen), Christopher (Rocky), Brandie (Darcy), Lyndsay, Kyle (Valynn) and her great-grandchildren; Marc, Erika, Joey, Randeen, Dakota, Aurora, Eris, Allyssa, Anabelle, Shannon and Hannah, Seth and Jasmine, and her two newest, Gabbi and Ava. She is also survived by her family in England and Australia, especially Paul, Linda, Chris, Nick, Diane and Stephen. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. We would like to thank 3 South staff at the Grace Hospital. They were amazing and so caring and compassionate. We would also like to thank Homecare for the amazing care they provided for mom. Although you are no longer here, In our hearts is where we will keep you, forever you will be near. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. We just heard about it a week ago. I only met your Mother once in Stratford many years ago but she was a lovely lady. My Mum was also a War Bride so I know the trials that your Mother must have gone thru. Many of the War Brides returned home due to home sickness. So sorry that it has been so long to get to your family but we did not know of the passing of such a lovely lady. Wishing everyone all the best. - Posted by: nancy j glaab (wife of cousin Michael Glaab originally from Stratford Ontario) on: May 23, 2018
