LORNA AILEEN LEUNG August 18, 1930 - May 2, 2017 Aileen Leung of Winnipeg, formerly of Swan River, passed away at Tuxedo Villa on May 2, 2017. Aileen was born at Taylor's Nursing Unit in Bowsman, MB, the youngest of Mary and James McIntosh's 11 children. She grew up on the family farm and married Mike Leung of Swan River in 1951. After graduating from nursing school, she worked as an LPN at the Swan River hospital from 1950 to 1984. She was very passionate and dedicated to her profession, and provided a high level of care to her patients. After retirement, she and Mike moved to Winnipeg. Her interests were curling, playing cards and needlepoint. She also enjoyed organizing the Swan Valley Golden Agers show for several years. She was an active member of the Honor Rebekah Lodge #68 and was awarded the Rebekah of the Year. Aileen and Mike were named Swan River Citizen of the Year for their community work. They enjoyed travelling and summers at their Wellman Lake cottage. Aileen was well known for telling jokes and her infectious laugh. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. Aileen was predeceased by her husband, Mike, her mother and father, brothers Jack and Chester, and sisters Cora, Rita, Doreen, Vera, Eleanor, Ethel, Betty and Lorraine. Left to mourn her passing are her 5 children - Morley (Trish) of Buchanan SK, Cheryl (Ron Tompkins) of Brandon, Heather (Alex Buchko), Kevin (Kimberly) and Michael (Kathy), all of Winnipeg, along with 8 grandchildren - Erica Scott, Ian (Mallory) James, Michelle and Alan Leung, Jeffrey and Angela Tompkins, and Kristyn and Kaitlan Buchko, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to Tracey at Lindenwood Manor and Kammie at Tuxedo Villa for their devotion, care and friendship. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
