ANNE TRUSSLER (nee CHUCKREY) May 20, 1929 - May 12, 2017 Peacefully, on May 12, 2017, Mom left us to join the loved ones patiently waiting for her arrival. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Candace, son-in-law Garry, son Randall, daughter-in-law Marilyn, and grandchildren Matthew and Katherine. Welcoming her home are her husband Robert, daughter Kelly, son-in-law Mike, grandchildren Elizabeth and Curtis, and siblings Fred, Peter, Bill, Frieda, Irene, Gladys, Christine and Lena, as well as her parents Mary and Thomas. Lookout folks, the Chuckrey girls are reunited! Mom's hands sum up her life. Starting out so strong and unscarred. Capable and confident. Working on the family farm during the Depression. Training as a nurse, shaking down thermometers (and paying $1.00 for each one broken!), holding people's hands, tending to their wounds. Knitting and crocheting a lot. Mitts, sweaters, afghans. Capes. Preparing meals. Sunday dinners. Christmas feasts. Sewing many clothes for her children. Holding books and reading bedtime stories. Gardening flowers and vegetables. Canning everything. Painting and drawing pictures, although she said she took it up too late in life to develop her talent. Holding her grandchildren. Playing cribbage and almost always winning. As she aged her hands did too, becoming frailer, more veined, less able to hold cards and books and knitting needles, more inclined to rest longer until finally they were still. We will miss you Mom. The family genuinely thanks the staff on the second floor of River Park Gardens for their love and care of Anne. You touched her heart and your attention to her needs made her days brighter. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In honour of our mom and her love of flower gardens we ask that you wear bright colours, more representative of spring than of funerals. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Our thoughts are with you during this time of loss. Remembering the hospitality and open discussion any time I was around her house in McCreary or Winnipeg. The memorial captured the essence of Ann's character very well. Please take care of yourselves. - Posted by: Greg Fedak (Family friend) on: May 17, 2017
