Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD GEORGE LIEBRECHT May 15, 1940 - May 12, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of George Liebrecht on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the age of 76. George is survived by his wife, Helen, daughters, LaVerne (Jim) and Leslie (Joseph), grandchildren, Ashleigh (Erik), Erin, Avery, Owen and Joel, siblings, Helen (Laurie) and Bob (Debby), and extended family members. Dad was born and raised in Selkirk before moving to Warren with his mother. Dad married Mom on September 11, 1965, in Meadow Lea, where they planted their roots at the Toogood homestead, which they farmed. It was here that they started their family. In addition to farming, Dad spent 42 years driving the school bus for the Interlake School Division. As a young man, he spent many hours curling, playing baseball, and playing goalie in hockey. He enjoyed watching sports, especially curling, wrestling and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Dad loved going for Sunday drives on any day of the week. He loved to check the crops, or checking in at the Marquette Café to catch up on the local news. His favourite destinations usually included ice cream. A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at the Meadow Lea Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Meadow Lea United Church, C/O Tammy Matthews, Box 52, Marquette, MB R0H 0V0. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Warren/Woodlands Fire Department and Emergency Personnel. A very special thank you to Dad's nurses, Gary, Cara and Gianna at the Grace Hospital 3 South for their attention to detail in ensuring his comfort during his final days. We cannot thank you enough for all you did. A final thank you to Dr. MacMillan for his years of providing care for Dad. 204-886-0404

Thinking of you as you mourn the loss of George. Though I have not seen any of you for years, I remember well visiting with you and how much I enjoyed George's friendly, kind manner. Aunt Mary and Mom always kept me up to date on news of your family, so I still feel connected. May George rest in peace and your memories of him remain in you hearts forever. Much love to you, Kathy Bartlett - Posted by: Kathy Bartlett (cousin) on: May 18, 2017
