Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD MIKE GRESKIW February 2, 1943 - May 23, 2017 It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our dear husband, brother, father and grandfather. On May 23, 2017, at home with his family by his side, Edward Mike Greskiw peacefully passed away. Ed is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Phyllis, of 49 years; as well as their three wonderful children, son David (Kelly), son Dennis (Terrylynn) and daughter Donna Hainstock (Britt). He will be greatly missed by his seven grandsons, Michael, Benjamin, Jack, Matthew, Otis, Levi and Jude. Ed is also survived by his siblings Steve, Orest and Elizabeth Kushnerek. Ed was predeceased by his father Joseph Greskiw, mother Annie Kushnerek, and stepfather Dmetro Kushnerek. Ed was born on February 2, 1943 in Dauphin, and grew up in Ashville and Pine River. He left home in 1962 to work at Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting, then moved to Winnipeg in 1966 working at CNR and the Winnipeg Fire Department. Ed married Phyllis Mayer in 1968 before devoting their lives to the raising and care of their three children. Ed was a caring, kind hearted and generous person who enlightened our lives and will be missed. We wish to thank family, friends, home care workers, the Palliative Care team and health care professionals who provided care during Ed's declining health. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy. #1 E at Navin Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Firefighters Burn Fund. Darling Phyllis, Just thinking about you and your family during this very difficult time. Ed was truly blessed to have you by his side.
