JANET THORPE February 4, 1956 - May 20, 2017 Janet Thorpe, of Winnipeg, MB, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. She is survived by her husband Charles, son James, brothers: Ross, Bill and Joel, and sister Cheryl. Cremation has taken place. When I am Gone When I come to the end of my journey And I travel my last weary mile, Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned And remember only the smile, Forget unkind words I have spoken; Remember some good I have done, Forget that I ever had a heartache And remember I've had lots of fun. Forget that I have stumbled and blundered And sometimes fell by the way, Remember I have fought Some hard battles and won, Ere the close of the day, Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day, But in summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lay And come in the evening When the sun paints the sky in the west, Stand for a few moments beside me And remember only my best. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • It was only in late 2019, that I got tired of phoning and getting no answer, so I searched for your name on the internet, only to find that you, Janet, my dear friend, have passed away so quietly. I finally had the time to come and see you again in person, instead of just speaking on the phone. I was always so busy with teaching and family, but thought of you often. It definitely saddens me still that you're gone, but happy to have great memories. Miss you always, Renate Sale (Bogusat) Toronto, now St. Catharines, ON I just found and re-read some of your old letters. - Posted by: Renate Sale (Bogusat) (friend) on: Feb 14, 2023

  • We will always remember Janet's infectious smile and interest in all our family member's progress at the Winter Club. She always had a minute to spare and took a real interest in all her extended family at the Club. She is truly missed! - Posted by: The Jacks Family (WWC Members) on: Jul 06, 2017
