ROBERT (DOBBY) CHARTRAND July 11, 1932 - May 29, 2017 Dobby passed away peacefully with family by his side after his courageous battle with cancer on May 29, 2017, at Riverview Health Center. He was born on July 11, 1932 in St. Laurent, MB but resided in Winnipeg, MB. He worked at Safeway for over 30 years. Dobby was a kind hearted, patient man who loved being surrounded by family. He enjoyed working in his yard, decorating for the holidays and volunteering in his community. He took pride in his Metis culture especially with the music. His love of traditional dancing allowed him to dance with his family at the Smithsonian Museum. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pauline; children, Clarence (Rosanne), Diane (Russell), Sharon; grandchildren, Merilee (John), Kayla, Katelyn (Liam), December, Kyle, Riley, Mersaides, Lee, Ava, Darrien, Darrius and Elijah. Pepere's other grandchildren, Vicky (Adham), Emerson, Donny, Sheena (Ricky), Guy Jr, Scott, Cindy, Tina and Sierra. Also his mother-in-law Rose Boudreau and numerous nieces and nephews. Siblings, Harvey (Isabelle), Johnny, Edith (Don), Diane (Ken), (Paulette). In laws; Patsy (Albert), Pam (Urbain), Leonard (Sharon), Frank(Marilyn), Norma(Hector), Marlene(Marcel), Louis (Earlene), Melvin (Joanne), Bev (Tim), Joanne (Donald), Paul (Verna), Karen (Wayne), Guy (Sandra). Robert is predeceased by his parents, Leon and Eva; father-in-law Louis Boudreau; granddaughter Nicole; siblings, Wilfred (Therese), Denis (Florence), Stella (Etienne), Clem (Jeannette), Mabel, Celia (Paul), Ronnie, (Denise); in-laws, Marcel, Gary, and Roy. Prayers and viewing will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers; Emerson Tayfour, Norma, Don and Edith Kolody. Pallbearers; Merilee, Kyle, Mitch, Adham, Skinny and Donny. Thank you for the wonderful care from CancerCare, Riverview Health Centre, and WRHA. Also to everyone who was by his side until the end. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare MB or St. Laurent Parish in Dobby's memory. Enjoy Happy Hour with Uncle Ronnie.
