Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWAENA (EDDA BUCKNELL) CHEALES October 2, 1916 - May 31, 2017 Edwaena Cheales 100 years, died peacefully at 2:00 p.m. on May 31, 2017. She will join her husband Rev. Alan B. Cheales in heaven along with her parents, Ada and Albert Bucknell of Transcona, her sister Dorothy and brother Lloyd. Edwaena will be greatly missed by her daughter Noreen Siebenaler, son in law Jim Siebenaler, grandchildren, Alan and Brett Siebenaler, and five great-grandchildren, Ayden, Miles, Callum, Emerson and Jack Siebenaler. Edwaena often fondly remembered Transcona where she grew up on Bond Street. She graduated as a registered nurse from Victoria Hospital Winnipeg as a young adult and had a long, successful, career as a nurse. Edwaena's family wishes to thank Middlechurch Personal Care Home in West St. Paul, Manitoba and Edwaena's caregivers there for their kind, professional services and support given to her and to her family living in the US. Funeral service will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, on Saturday June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Expressions of condolences may sent to condolences@nbardal.mb.ca. As a descendent of the Cheales's of Lincolnshire in the UK as was Edwaena's husband Alan Bellingham I have spent many years researching the Cheales family. This had put me in touch with Alan and Edwaena over the years. Subsequently with Noreen and family and niece Agnes in Vancouver. Also the descendent of Clifford Cheales. I have had the joy of knowing Edwaena via mail only and she has been most helpful with the Cheales research resulting in the publishing of my book "Cheales's to Australia" telling of the many Cheales's in the World and focusing on the family that came to Australia. As a coincidence a young athlete I trained in Australia Bronwin Zalewski spent some time in Manatoba and cared for Edwaena a few years ago. A wonderful life and saddened by her passing.
