DANIEL MAYDANIUK May 23, 1930 - May 31, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Maydaniuk on May 31, 2017 at the age of 87. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Louise, of 52 years; daughter Kathryn (Keith) Litke; sister Nadia Alexandra; nephews Clifford Jr. and Real Joynt, as well as numerous cousins and many friends. Daniel was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Maria; nephews Dale and James Joynt, as well as several cousins; father and mother-in-law Ludwig and Anne Jastrau; and brother-in-law Edward Jastrau. Dan always tried to live life to its fullest. He loved boating and building his pontoon boats. He bought every boating and flying magazine available. He was always dreaming about the next boat. Dan also loved reminiscing about his younger years to anyone who would listen. Dan was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent the majority of his younger years in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. He started his career on the Canadian National Railway in Sioux Lookout and Edmonton. From there he joined the Air Force until 1962 when he received an honourable discharge. From there he went back to Sioux Lookout and was employed with the Department of Lands and Forests. While working for Lands and Forests he met and married the love of his life Louise. He was then transferred to Toronto. Dan and Louise moved back to Sioux Lookout and he worked at the mill in Hudson, Ontario. In 1976 Dan and his family moved to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan where he was employed at Simpson Timber until he retired in 1987. Dan and Louise moved back to Winnipeg in 1999 where they have resided since. The interment took place on June 6, 2017 at Green Acres Cemetery.
