DONELDA (DONNA) ANNE ELIASSON It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wife, mom, sister and special Grammy. Mom passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the age of 73, at the St. Boniface Hospital. After a lengthy struggle with Chronic Emphysema and COPD. Mom fought this terrible illness with such dignity and remained true to her caring and loving nature. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Phil (Papa Bear), her two devoted daughters Coreen (Joe) Teresa (Chris), grandchildren Samantha (Conor) and Jamee and great-grandson Nixyn. Donna also leaves to mourn her brother Robert Hall (Marilyn), sister-in-law Lyn (Denny) Wilkins and sister-in-law Lorraine (Dale) MacDonald and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents and mother and father-in-law. Donna was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 27, 1943. She moved to Winnipeg, MB with her family at the age of nine. At the age of 19 she married her love Philip Eliasson and began on their life's journey. They enjoyed many fun times out at the farm with family in MacGregor, MB. In 1974 mom and dad built a cabin at Rock Lake, MB. The next 19 years would bring some of the best times and most fondest memories shared between family and friends, at the place mom and dad loved the most. One of Donna's passions was her love of gardening and having her yard kept just so. Heaven for bid, a leaf or twig would fall and mess up the yard! As well as her love of gardening, Donna's greatest joy was her love of Bears. Turning her bedroom into a "Bear Den", always proud to show it off. Her love of animals didn't stop there. You name it, she had it! From goats, bunnies, a pheasant, racoon, and especially her turtle Tiny (of 33 years and counting). Mom also loved decorating their house for every season. Christmas being her favorite. There were many other holidays mom would also dress up for. Throughout the years with family and friends they enjoyed cruising down the river on their cabin cruiser, camping, snowmobiling, quadding, fishing, hunting, some traveling and many visits up to their daughter's cottage at Grindstone, MB. The family would like to Thank the St. Boniface Hospital Ward 4E South, Dr. Kevin Coates, and the exceptional nursing staff for the Love and Care they provided for her in the last six months. You truly have become a part of our family and we will Forever be grateful! A family viewing and cremation has taken place as per mom's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Program. We will Love you Forever! You will Always be in our Hearts. • So sorry to hear about Donna's passing. Have thought about you people over the years and wondered how everyone was. Life gets busy and we go our separate ways only to find out someone we knew long ago has passed without us making contact. Again so sorry for all of you.
