RICHARD J. MORNING January 23, 1935 - June 1, 2017 On a beautiful, warm June evening, with the aroma of lilacs in the air, Richard J. Morning peacefully passed away at the age of 82 years. Richard is predeceased by his wife Dina in 2009 and by his parents, John and Lillian Morning. Uncle Richard will be fondly remembered by his nephews and their families. Following high school, Richard started his working career as a courier for Scotia Bank, and then moved on to the Manitoba Telephone System. While at MTS, he also worked as a security guard at Victoria Hospital. Richard was always ahead of his time when it came to electronics and had, for its time, one of the best stereo systems around. He loved his gadgets and was an avid collector of various items. Richard had a large music collection which he enjoyed in his last years. In addition to their home on Brandon Avenue, Richard and Dina also had a cottage at Grand Marais where they spent many happy summers together. After leaving his home, Richard moved to Deer Lodge Centre where he was very well looked after by the staff on Tower 7. Richard's family is very grateful for the care he received there. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Chapel, 4477 Main Street, presided by Pastor Cameron Schnarr. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Deer Lodge Centre or a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sorry to hear of Richard's passing. My grandfather's (Alfred Vine) cabin in Grand Marais was next door to Richard. My grandfather and Mrs. Penston were great friends and used to feed the chipmunks together. I remember meeting Richard and Dina on a few occasions. - Posted by: Gay Todd () on: Jun 05, 2017
