CASSANDRA SCOTT With the passing of Cassandra (Cass), the world has lost a special person. A mother to Rachel and Cameron and grandmother to Lily and James, all of whom she was so proud of and loved so dearly, showing their pictures to all. Cassandra's compassion and caring for others was most evident in her work at Opportunities for Employment (OFE) where she was proud and happy that she was able to help others better their lives and she cherished each and every thank-you card she was given by the participates. OFE was not a job to Cassandra but a second home with a second family. Cassandra found comfort in church where she felt at home within another family. She enjoyed watching the Jets, crochet items for others, and working with others to make dolls for children at Children's Hospital, dolls much like she received and kept when she was a cancer patient at the age of four. Recently Cassandra was looking into her genealogy, always happy to find another distant relative; with Cassandra one could never have too big a family. Family was important to Cassandra and she will be missed by her son Cameron (Amber), grandchildren, Lily (Lily Bug) and James, daughter Rachel (Dylan), father Tom (Lucille), sister Nicole (Chad), brother Jamie (Jenn), nephews, Jesse (Nita), Dustin (Amanda), and Matthew (Alicia) and great-niece Mariah, aunts, uncles, many, many cousins, and so many friends, whether they were friends for 40 years or new ones, they all were like family to her. We could not forget her fur babies, Duchess, Zee, and Rose. Cassandra was predeceased by her grandparents, her mother Carol, and her brother-in-law Jeff. A service will be held at Friday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. in Eastview Community Church, 3500 De Vries Ave., East St. Paul, MB. Viewing will take place at 1:15 p.m. Although troubled with health issues all her life, Cassandra fought through them bravely. We know that Cassandra would appreciate if in lieu of flowers, donations were made to: CancerCare Manitoba Foundation http://www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca/more-tomorrows-together/ or for Porphyria at http://www.canadianassociationforporphyria.ca/donate.
