KENNETH RAYMOND OUELETTE Ken passed away peacefully, at the Victoria Hospital, on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Florence. He leaves behind his sons Randy (Carole) and Ken (Yolande); grandchildren Jennifer (Colin), Jason (Ashley), Trevor (Jacqueline), Melissa, and Andrea, as well as five great-grandchildren Tayah, Brooklyn, Sophie, Dino and Dawson. Kenneth was born in Saskatoon on September 12, 1929. His family moved to Winnipeg where he was raised with three siblings. He married Florence on June 11, 1953 in Winnipeg, and together they raised a family and enjoyed the company of their many good friends in Fort Garry, St. Vital, and in northwestern Ontario at Paddy Lake and Black Sturgeon Lake. Ken was always a hard worker and devoted family man. He left a career with CN to return to school to complete his grade 12. He then completed a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. He went on to have a long and successful career at Manitoba Hydro, retiring in 1991. Following his retirement he spent many years travelling with Florence and enjoying time at the cottage. No formal service will be held. A private celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Please raise a glass of scotch in his honour and remember all the good times. We would like to thank the staff at St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their excellent care over the past three years. Dad, you will always be in our hearts and our memories of you will last forever. We miss you dearly. www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715.

  • Randy and Ken, So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was a great engineer who made substantial contributions to Manitoba Hydro, especially in the field of Bipoles I and II HVDC transmission system. He was very dependable and reliable, and easy to work with. My wife, Mavis and I enjoyed the convention trips with your mom and dad. Your dad was a real fun guy.
