Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH GEORGE RIDLEY November 5, 1933 - June 5, 2017 Our beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2017, at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Ken was born on November 5, 1933 in Old Kildonan, Manitoba to Albert and Rhoda Ridley and was raised in Middlechurch, Manitoba. He attended West St. Paul School, St. John's Tech and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BSc (Agriculture). Ken was a retired Province of Manitoba employee. Ken had been residing at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for the past two years. Whoever said "you can't go home again" was mistaken in this case, as Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg was a haven for Ken these past two years and the friendship and care provided by the residents and staff was truly appreciated by him and his family. He is survived by, and will forever be remembered by, his loving sister, Rhoda Ridley, his sister-in-law, Rilla Ridley, seven nieces Debbie Buckingham (Ken), Shelley King (John), Laura Reeder (Richard), Linda Ridley (Terry), Cindy Boss (Don), Cheryl Ridley-Callis and Karyn Ridley-Crone, nine great-nieces and great-nephews, one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Charlie Gessner, and his brother, Al Ridley. Ken will be remembered as a loving, gentle and humble man with a sharp wit and keen sense of humour. He had a broad knowledge base, often providing a nugget of information that would cause one to pause and think... "where the heck did that come from!" He was a skilled photographer and avid traveller, visiting such exotic locales as Kenya, Australia, Asia and Europe. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, Manitoba. Light refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg or to a charity of choice. You are not forgotten Nor will you ever be Not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth Of a man as a man, ... Glen Eden Funeral 204-338-7111
