STANLEY TOPOLNISKI June 13, 2017 in Winnipeg, MB, our beloved father, grandfather and friend peacefully passed away in the arms of his three children, at the St. Boniface Hospital, in the gracious loving care from the staff on the 8 Floor Palliative Unit, St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 86 years. Dad leaves to mourn: his children, Sandy Long (Larry), Russ Topolniski and Randy Topolniski (Shelley); and grandchildren, Cole and Cody Long, and Mikhaila Topolniski. Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Paraska and Dmytro Topolnicki. Dad was born in Winnipeg and grew up next to the Elmhurst Golf and Country Club, moving to Transcona in his adult years to raise his family. Dad's career with CN Railway spanned over 40 years and he has lived a tremendously full retirement life surrounded by his family. Dad was most notably an accomplished curler and golfer throughout his life. He loved both sports and from spring to fall you would find him daily at his second home Elmhurst Golf and Country Club where he was a proud/loyal member of the club for 66 years. Stan stayed close to the sports world by volunteering his time at the former Transcona Curling Club, Thistle Curling Clubs and the Manitoba Curling Association in various executive board member capacities, still actively umpiring at the MCA bonspiels each year, he enjoyed being involved with a sport he loved. Our Yosh (dad) was the "go to guy", his wisdom, guidance, love and friendship will be sadly missed. You touched many hearts, be at peace Dad. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, Manitoba.
