Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD DUNCAN CAMPBELL December 18, 1932 - June 21, 2017 Winnipeg, Manitoba It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ron (Papa) Campbell. Papa passed peacefully at St. Joseph's Residence, with his family by his side. Papa will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Fran, his two sons, Chris (Susan) and Tim (Karen), his six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Papa was born in Winnipeg and was the second youngest of four brothers. At the age of 14, he and his family moved to Transcona, MB. After graduating from high school, Papa went to University of Manitoba, Department of Science, but ended up changing focus to something he had a passion for, the auto repair industry. Papa went to work at the family business, Campbell Motors and later received his mechanic's license. Papa was always interested in airplanes and in 1951 received his private pilot license through the Air Cadets. During Papa's time in university, he met the love of his life, Fran. They dated for five long years before finally tying the knot. Papa moved from Campbell Motors to Simpson Sears, as the parts manager. From Sears, he moved to Ford Motors (even though he was a Dodge man) and then to Riley Sales, which later became DARR Distributors, which Papa was key shareholder. At around 58 years of age, Papa was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which aided in the decision to retire at 62 years of age. Papa was an awesome man, so smart, so strong, such a great sense of humour and always had his chin held high. Papa, we will miss you forever and always. The time has finally come for you to rest in peace. Condolences for the family will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave, Winnipeg, MB, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and reception. Cremation has already taken place. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

With only knowing Ron for short time, it was a sincere privilege even with his failing health he still looked on the bright side of life and the friendships he had established in his home away from home. Anyone who met Ron knew right away he was a very caring and genuine human being and will be missed by many at St Joseph's Residence, he leaves behind a very dear wife who also has a wonderful personality and I wish all the family much blessing as they journey through the loss of Ron.... - Posted by: Roy s Bechard (support worker ) on: Jun 26, 2017

I dealt with Ron when I worked for Midway Chrysler. I always admired the strength and determination he had. - Posted by: ABE FLAMING () on: Jun 26, 2017
