ANICA (ANNE) ZOKVIC Suddenly on June 23, 2017, Anica Zokvic passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. Anica was born and raised in Croatia, and then after a brief stay in Germany, came to Canada in 1969 with husband Steve and daughter Carol. Throughout her life, Anica was focused first and foremost on family, followed closely by cooking and baking. Some of her most joyous times were spent preparing for her next opportunity to feed her kids or grandkids - whether they were hungry or not. Following several spinal cord surgeries in the 1980s, her mobility significantly declined - but her spirit could not be broken. She was determined to live life with as much passion and fun as possible, until her memory started going in 2010. But despite that new challenge, Anica continued to offer up whatever food or snack was available to others before considering them for herself. This selflessness was evident right up to the day before her passing. Anica was very proud of her Croatian heritage and committed to her Catholic faith. Anica is loving remembered by husband Steve, son Steven (Tammy), and the pride and joy of her last 13 years - grandchildren, Emma and Alex. She was predeceased by a newborn son in Croatia and daughter Carol in 2006, along with both her parents. She also leaves behind family in Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Croatia, Germany and Australia. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Maples Personal Care Home (where she resided the past three years). Please know that you are making a difference to families during some of their toughest moments in life and can't be thanked enough. Funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba at www.alzheimer.mb.ca Grandma, we love and miss you. Please know that you will always be in our hearts. Love Emma and Alex. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

My deepest condolences on the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother. She is now with her beloved Carol. It's hard to believe Carol has been gone now for 11 years. I think of her everyday. God bless you all. - Posted by: Eileen Martin (Carol's friend) on: Jun 28, 2017
