Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROLANDE GALLANT (née LARAMEE) Rolande died at Actionmarguerite (Taché Centre) on June 27, 2017, at the age of 90 years. She will be sadly missed by her 10 children: Laura, Jeanne D'Arc (Guy) Thibert, Diane Schipper, Germain (Michelle), Yvan (Louise), Claire, André, Louis, Yvette (Jim) Stevenson and Annette, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Emilienne Poirier. She will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Noe in 2013, sons-in-law, Theodore Schipper and Larry Tarasenco, as well as her granddaughter Nicole Gallant all in 2007. She was also predeceased by her parents, four brothers and seven sisters. Rolande was born in La Broquerie, MB. After marrying Noé on July 5, 1950, they eventually moved to St. Boniface where she raised her family. Mom was at her happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Even though we had a full house, her door was always opened to welcome any family member who needed a place to stay. After the children were grown up, she became involved in bowling at Club La Vérendrye and a member of the Canadian Daughters. Mom was fun-loving person, with a great smile who enjoyed singing and playing her favourite songs. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Lisa, Tracy, Pauline, Nicole, Christiane and Jennifer. Funeral mass will be celebrated on July 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Cathédrale. Interment will be held at a later time. The family would like to thank the staff at Action Marguerite (2DE) for the excellent care and compassion they showed during Mom's stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association of Manitoba, Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, or Actionmarguerite (Taché Centre). Rest in Peace Mom. I remember going to your house Yvette and your Mom was always cooking up something with that "Big Smile". Such a lovely lady and beautiful spirit.
