HELENE FLORENCE HAYES (née RIOUX) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hélène on June 26, 2017, at the age of 70. After a short battle with lung cancer this spring, she passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, with her family by her side. Hélène is survived by her children Danielle (Darren), Stephanie, Darren (Cynthia) and Jennifer (Randy); as well as her grandchildren Brittany, Justin, Hannah, Jocelyn, Jack, Katherine and Thomas. Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings Phil (Lise), Solange (Hank), Simone, Marcel (Marlene) and Raymond (Pauline), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Léontine Rioux, her infant daughter Nicole, her niece Joelle, and her brother Maurice Rioux. Hélène was raised in St. Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba and lived the majority of her life in Winnipeg. She was a proud, strong, and independent woman who enjoyed sharing time and a good laugh with her family. She loved camping and travelling, and made many fond memories from her travels across the USA and Canada, Alaska to Mexico, and to France. We wish to thank all family and friends that phoned, visited, and prayed for our mother over the past few months. She was truly touched by all the support she received.
