I am so saddened to hear of Benna's passing. Benna and I were friends since our family moved to Gimli when we were both thirteen and entering Grade 8 at the Gimli Public School. I always called on her and we walked to school together. Although we did not see each other for many years at a time when I lived in many other places, we always kept in touch and a visit to Gimli always meant a visit to see Benna and Don. Bert and I were fortunate in the past four years to have visited Gimli more often. Benna was always the first person we contacted. She was such a warm and caring person and loved by so many. We send our condolences to her family and friends. Gimli will never be the same without her. - Posted by: Linda Glover (longtime friend) on: Jul 27, 2017

I looked forward to seeing Benna every summer over the Icelandic Celebration. She was one of Gimli's finest women, wise, kind, gentle and always a joy to talk to. Our sympathies go out to her family. Sincerely, Pat Peacock - Posted by: Patricia Peacock (Friend) on: Jul 11, 2017

Benna was one of the kindest, most sincere people I have had the pleasure of knowing. Her ready smile and sincerity and caring will remain with me. My condolences to Benna's family. I wish you strength. That would certainly mirror your mother's enduring belief in facing what life deals us. - Posted by: Jim Mosher (Friend) on: Jul 10, 2017
