Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH MARY RANICK (nee SHOTT) June 30, 1935 - July 5, 2017 It is with deeply felt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Elizabeth Mary Ranick in Winnipeg on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the age of 82. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Katherine Shott, her former husband William Ranick, and long-term partner George Sinclair. Her memory will be cherished by her son Randall, daughter-in-law Mary, and grandson Royce. She will also be remembered by her sister Margaret and husband Alex Kindraka of Stony Creek, Ontario, her surviving relatives and many lifelong friends. Elizabeth had a varied career working at an early age in Winnipeg with Inman Motors followed by J & P Coats and thereafter finishing her last 37 years with The Court of Queens Bench at the age of 76 when she finally retired. Elizabeth loved to entertain in her home with all her family and friends in attendance and nobody left hungry or short of libation and everyone had a great time. She also enjoyed her time at the lake and hosted and entertained many people at her cottage over the years. Elizabeth was loved and respected by many for her great strength, independence, zest and determination in life. She never took no for an answer and always found a way to accomplish her goals. Elizabeth at all times looked striking; she possessed an inherent flair for fashion and was always coordinated from head to toe. She loved her family and friends greatly and was generous to all that knew her. She was charitable and understanding. She firmly believed in God and in God's greater power and plan for all of humanity. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family and friends but will never be forgotten. A celebration of her life followed by a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 with advanced viewing at 1:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Randy, my sincere condolences to you and your family in your loss. I remember Liz well and she was always great fun and had a great sense of humour. As her memorial says, she was always dressed to the nines and she took great pride in having her home look the same. My fondest memory is seeing her take a jacket off the back of a chair, hanging it up and reminding us that chairs are not for jackets. Of course, neither Terry or I would ever do that intentionally just to get her going! My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Ernie - Posted by: Ernie Walker (Friend) on: Jul 13, 2017

Dear Randy and family: My dad George Sinclair spent the best years of his life with your mother Liz. As a result he was on his best behavior and his family thrived as a result. That included me and my brother David living at 410 and my sisters who all lived away. They all remember her fondly and send their condolences to you. We were 2 families that almost became one family. Liz was all that you said and more in the above. I wish I could have thanked her recently for all that she did for my family.
