HANNELORE KATHE BUTZ (nee DENNIG) It is with sadness that the family of Hannelore Kathe Butz announces her passing on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Seven Oaks Hospital. Lore will be missed by her loving daughters, Doris (Chris) and Susan (David); her son Harry (Sandy); grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Paul, Andrew and Ryan; along with numerous relatives in Germany and friends here. She was predeceased by her husband Harold; father Karl; mother Katrina; and her five brothers and four sisters in Germany. Lore was born on April 17, 1932 in Karlsruhe, Germany. With her fiancé Harold they left Germany in September, 1951 and settled in Winnipeg. They were married on May 5, 1952 and began their journey together. Lore worked for many years at Gourmet Pizza, was an active member of the German Club and helped her husband spend many happy times at the cottage at Red Rock Lake. She especially enjoyed her time out at the lake with her grandchildren and friends who would come and visit. In accordance with Lore's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church, 2903 McPhillips Street, followed by a reception at the church hall. A special thank you to all her friends for their support and visits to our mother at home or in the hospital. A special thank you to Hildegard Weintz and her family for all the love and support they gave Lore throughout the years. A big thank you to all the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital on the 5th floor, Unit U2 for making her last days comfortable and pain free. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lore's memory to the Diabetes Foundation.
