JANET DAMAN Janet leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, Koert (Charlie), Chris (Marguerite), and Leonard (Nicole); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Elsie Petriew and Roberta Greenfield. She was predeceased by her husband John. Janet was born April 6, 1924 in Parkman, Saskatchewan. She grew up in the Grand Point area and married John, her husband and partner for nearly 50 years. Together they worked side by side as mink ranchers, market gardeners and farmers. Once retired, Mom and Dad enjoyed many years in Texas with many good friends until Dad's passing. They enjoyed their family and loved travelling with their children and grandchildren. Mom was a great baker, loved making wedding cakes, loved sewing, gardening, playing cards and socializing. We all loved Mom's magical Santa Claus cookies at Christmas! Mom enjoyed her time at the Waverley playing cards and watching curling, baseball and hockey with her longtime friend and sister Elsie. A private family service was held on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Many thanks to Dr. Cummings, Mom's family doctor, as well as the staff at the Waverley. Special thanks to the amazing staff at Vista Park Lodge for their care, love, and concern during Mom's final stay. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba.
