EDNA MAE MULDER (nee PETERSON) December 3, 1928 - July 15, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Edna on July 15, 2017 at Concordia Hospital. She leaves to mourn, and will be forever lovingly remembered by, her husband of 66 years, George; her children, Kathy (Doug), Laurie, Kevin and Lynne; sisters, Catherine Waytiuk and Irene McMechan; sisters-in-law, Areen Mulder, Nellie Allen, Maryann Peterson and Mary Peterson, and brothers-in-law, Dick Mulder (Marilyn) and Ron Worthington. She will be greatly missed by dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, as well as many friends, neighbours, travelling companions and golfing buddies. Edna was the 10th of 12 children born to Andrew and Margaret Peterson in St. Clements. She and George lived in East St. Paul for most of their married lives, and were very active members of their community. We would like to thank the Concordia Hospital staff in the Emergency Department and on the Third Floor, and Doctors Bzura and Cleghorn for their care. As per Edna's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of Edna's rich life has been planned. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna's memory to the Concordia Hospital Foundation, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S8, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, or to a charity of one's choice. • What can I say Aunt Edna. You have been my friend, my mentor, my confidante for 7 decades. Your young cheery voice when you answered the phone will stay in my memory but it will be difficult to not be able to discuss issues with you! I will love you in my heart forever!!! - Posted by: Carole Forbister (niece) on: Jul 23, 2017

  • I was saddened to learn of Edna's death and I offer my condolences to George and family as they grieve the loss of a wife and mother. I now grieve the loss of a friend. I had known Edna for many years and have good memories of the years spent at Polson School. The Mulders were neighbours down the street and, after my husband passed away, Edna invited me to join the supper outings of "the Polson Girls." Those were fun times and I will be forever grateful for the friendship offered. I appreciated the emails sent from their winter home in Palm Springs. The pictures of their flowers brightened my snowy days in Winnipeg. Edna will be missed by many. I hope that the wonderful memories she left behind will bring comfort to her family in the months and years ahead. Sincerely, Shirley Augustine. - Posted by: Shirley Augustine (friend ) on: Jul 22, 2017

  • We are very sad and were surprised to hear of Edna's passing. She was a smart lady and had a wonderful sense of humor. We enjoyed our golf games over the years and enjoyed our coffee and breakfasts out, straightening out all the world problems. We will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are George and the family. - Posted by: Herb and Margaret Rempel (Friends) on: Jul 22, 2017

  • Lynne, Kevin, Kathy and Laurie. I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I remember her fondly. She treated me like one of her own, during our many sleepovers!! I think of all the great times we had every time I drive past your family home, where you all grew up (which would be daily!!) Please pass my condolences on to your dad, as well. Take care...... - Posted by: Dale schenk (Boroski) (Childhood friend) on: Jul 22, 2017
