CAROL ANN JOHNSTON December 23, 1946 - July 16, 2017 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mom, nannie, aunt, sister and friend. Carol was a caring and kind soul who would do anything for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking and also out playing cards with friends. She is survived by her father Thomas Robert "Bob" Johnston, sons David (Connie) and Michael (Christine), daughter Joanne (Richard) Morissette, grandchildren Ryan, Paige, Noah, Ty, Twila and Grace, sisters Donna (Garry) and Joanne (Lou), and brothers Robert (Wendy) and Gord (Rina). She was predeceased by her mother Virginia Johnston in 2004. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Health Sciences Centre and the Grace Hospital for all their care and compassion. A private family service will be held at a later date to honour her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society. I have known Carol for 35 years. She was such a great professional. Carol had so much class and humility, always acting with kindness and compassion. I will never forget her non judgmental and genuine character, treating everyone with equal respect and dignity, no matter your position, values or beliefs. I have known Carol for quite a few years now. I met her at Fort Garry legion, we enjoyed playing poker and getting to know one another. She was always so happy kind, and full of stories and fun! I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. Condolences to her family. She talked about you often. I would love to be there for all of you, would like to know of further details, live to you all. Carol - you were was such a gem. The work and laughter we shared will be in my heart for as long as I am able to remember. Colleen and I enjoyed your company and sharing good food and friendship. Cannot yet imagine how much I will miss you.
