LARRY B. DUMA January 8, 1933 - July 20, 2017 With love surrounding him, Larry passed away on July 20, 2017 at Riverview Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was loved by all and is survived by his goddaughter Tracy (Charles), best buddy Kaden, sisters, Helen (Joe) and Dallas (Tony), brothers, Tony (Elsie) and Casey (Nellie), many loving nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Larry was predeceased by his loving wife Sally, best friend and brother-in-law Steve, mother (Julia), father (Anthony), brothers, Frank (Betty), Joe (Rose), Gene (Eleanor) and Edward (Alexis), and sister Carol (Paul). Growing up in the municipality of Brokenhead, Larry's gifts of kindness, charisma and generosity were bestowed upon him at an early age and defined him throughout his life. The single word that encompasses Larry is friendly. Everyone who met him wanted to be around him, cherishing his company. He truly loved people and his smile warmed their souls. Larry's aptitude for music shone as the proud drummer of Red River Slims and Country Playboys during the early 1950s. A man of many trades, Larry and his family worked in construction. Along with his brothers, Larry built houses with detailed and meticulous workmanship. Larry's greatest gift was the relationships he built working in sales. He was the sales manager of Pulak Furniture for majority of his working career and proudly worked alongside Steve until they retired. In retirement, Larry spent his time with family and friends; attending activities of his special nephews and nieces, Bombers, Jets/Moose and Goldeye's games, fishing trips, casino adventures, travelling and caring for his beloved Sally. Larry was a loyal caregiver and loved with unwavering intensity. His smile and handshake were always genuine, welcoming and altruistic. He was a special soul, an angel on earth; passionate, generous and kind beyond words. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the care and compassion given to Larry by the Riverview doctors, nurses, aides and staff. A special thank you to Dr. Sawaya for the special moments shared with the family at Riverview. To Dr. Marvin Slutchuk, for the highest quality of personal care he provided Larry and much more. Also, a precious thank you to his friend Pat who gently and graciously cared for him in his final days. You are our hero Larry. We love you forever; your legacy shall live within everyone you touched. #ROK Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB. • The most common thing I remember about uncle Larry the most was him smiling all the time, at every family get toghther and Everytime I was with him. To me h'sbone of the greatest great uncles I have. Both Larry and Sally are, and will be sorely missed at any social or family event we have, but I will never forget the ones we had as they were usually the life of the party, and got the face floor going. I love you both and I know, and am glad that you have been reunited once again to resume where you left off. Love and miss both you & Sally. Be at peace and I'll see you when I get there. - Posted by: Wade biegun (Great Nephew) on: Jul 31, 2017

  • Sharing grief from afar. Sorry we cannot be there to hold hands with the family and friends. Our older generation is leaving one by one. Larry will be missed by us. There is comfort in knowing he will be with his family, his wife, Sally, and his best friend, Steve. I'm sure "Auntie Lena" will greet him with open arms. We had so many fun times together. Thank you for coming to Valerie's wedding. Without any brothers or sisters of my own, I cherish my Canadian family. Rest in Peace now, free from pain. God Bless You All.
