He was predeceased by his parents Sigurdur and Lara, brothers Alvin Siggs, Edwin, Barney and Wilmar, sisters-in-law June Siggs, Doreen Karvelson and Florence Albertson, and brothers-in-law Albert and Marvin Albertson. He is survived by his wife, Sigurlin (nee Albertson), of 60 years; three daughters: Karen (John) Dziad, Brenda (Einar) Einarsson and Laurel (Blaine) Tessier; grandchildren: Shane Dziad (Allison), Morgan Dziad (Trae MacDonald), Keye Dziad, Erin Sigvaldason, Elaine Einarsson, Austin Einarsson (Renalyn), Aira and Reece Tessier; and great-grandchildren: Avery and Macie Dziad, and Findlay MacDonald. Also survived by sisters-in-law: Arlene (Ken) Peterson, Hazel and Irene Sigvaldason, and brother-in-law, Ingvar Karvelson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was born at the homestead Hvitarvollum. After finishing school in Arborg he moved to Edmonton to work in the oil fields, then returned back to the farm and farmed until retirement. He was not a big traveller however travelled the world with his avid reading. In retirement he loved his garden and shared his crop with his family. A private man who enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren, which was accented with his quick wit and gentle teasing which made people smile. He taught values of fairness and equality in all circumstances. He valued education and encouraged it. He was generous in his own way and family came first and he showed unconditional love to his wife, children and grandchildren. As per his wishes a cremation has taken place and a private ceremony is planned. Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Akinpelu and the staff of the Arborg Personal Care Home, homecare workers, and Julie and Tannis at Gimli Hospital. I didn't have the privilege of knowing your dad that well until he was at the PCH. I know he was a private man but did experience some of his teasing and sense of humour. My thoughts are with all of you. He certainly had a lovely supportive family. Hold onto those memories. Love and hugs sent your way❤️ - Posted by: Candy and Bob Cherepak (Friend) on: Aug 01, 2017

My favourite story of Uncle Lloyd is when he came running out of the house with a butcher knife to rescue me from a nasty rooster. I'm sure that bird ended up in a pot that day. I always smile when I think of that event. - Posted by: Lynn Sigvaldason (Niece) on: Jul 29, 2017
