GERRY BAUERLEIN Suddenly on August 1, 2017, Gerald Gordon Bauerlein passed away in Gimli, Manitoba. He was born May 28, 1939 in Buffalo, New York. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Bauerlein, and his son Todd Bauerlein. He is survived by sons, Jay (Diane) and Dean (Sandy); granddaughters, Mackenzie and Mikaela; Elaine's children, Joel and Cheryl (Stacy, Scott), Curtis, Stephen and Cathy (Carmen, Evan, Shaun) and Michele and Carl (Mikayla, Colton), brother and sisters and their families in Ontario. He will be remembered for his love of his grandchildren, his hunting and show dogs, and his passion for wood carving. "My eyes have seen wonderful sunrises over the lake, The faces of my beautiful granddaughters, and the love in the eyes of a woman. Now burn what is left and scatter my ashes so new life may grow. If you must bury something, let it be my faults and my weaknesses. If you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone you love. If you do as I ask, my life was worthwhile." A Celebration of Life will be held in Gerry's memory on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of one's choice.

  • RIP Uncle Gerry. - Posted by: Maria and Lisa Oliveira (Niece) on: Aug 06, 2017

  • To the Bauerlein family- so sorry for your loss. My favorite memory of your dad dropping in whenever our parents were out of town and we were throwing a party! He had a way of checking in on us without killing the party... usually it involved a drink and some kind of sausages being grilled on the BBQ. Had a ton of laughs with your Dad.. great guy! - Posted by: Wendy Sikora (Neighbour ) on: Aug 06, 2017

  • My sincere condolences Jay and Diane, Dean and Sandy, and family. I have fond memories of our families spending time together when we all were younger... Your dad was very special to me (he did the most wonderful toast to the bride at our wedding 33 years ago!) and he will be greatly missed by all of our family. May your treasured memories of him help you through this difficult time; know that our hearts, love, and thoughts are with all of you... - Posted by: Myra Cox (Family Friend) on: Aug 05, 2017

  • Deepest codolences to the family. I met Gerry and Elaine when they moved into the condos at the Beach next door to my folks. Always a pleasure to meet and talk with either of them. Ever missed , never forgotten Art - Posted by: Art Cain (Friend) on: Aug 05, 2017
