SISTER MARIE-ANGE GAUTRON (SISTER MARIE-ALEXANDRE) 1922-2017 On Friday, August 11, 2017, Sister Marie-Ange Gautron passed away at Villa Aulneau. For over a year, Sister Marie-Ange was preparing for her entrance into the Father's House. She was predeceased by her parents: Alexandre Gautron and Marthe Joly; her sisters, Solange and Thérèse, Fille de la Croix; her brothers: Jean, François, Pierre, René and her sisters-in-law: Rita Galand, Lucienne Leclerc, Marie Dedieu and Marie-Paule Arbez. Apart from the members of her religious Community, she leaves to mourn her brothers: Roland, André, Yves and sister-in law Lucienne Landry as well as nieces and nephews and many friends. Sister Marie-Ange was born in Haywood, Manitoba, on July 7, 1922. She studied in Haywood, Saint-Claude and Saint-Adolphe. She went into teaching early, attending Normal School in 1944. She started her training for religious life with les Filles de la Croix in 1947 and made her final profession in 1954 in Saint-Adolphe. She was a dedicated and creative teacher much loved by her young pupils. She taught in La Salle and Saint-Adolphe, Manitoba, and in Laflèche, Bellegarde and Willow-Bunch, Saskatchewan. After her retirement from teaching she rendered precious community services as a driver for the numerous appointments but especially as bursar for the Sisters. Her pleasant disposition, her attention to detail and exact book-keeping suited her well for this service. In her later years, with her Sister, Thérèse, she took up quilting for the needy. Sister Marie-Ange proved a good companion wherever she went. She had a good sense of humor and her family jokes entertained the community many a time. She was a kind and compassionate woman, a woman of faith and prayer, always mindful of her religious consecration. She was interested in classical music, reading, films, and the opera. She loved her family. She was very thankful for the time she spent caring for her aging mother. We will miss her discreet presence, her fine memory of family and community history. May she rest in the love of her Friend, Jesus. The family and the Sisters wish to thank the personnel of Villa Aulneau for their excellent and loving care as well as their friendly relationship with our Sister. Sister Marie-Ange also benefitted from the dedicated service of the Palliative Care Unit. The Funeral Mass will be held at Villa Aulneau, 601 rue Aulneau on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Father Léonce Aubin will preside. Burial will follow in Saint-Adolphe Cemetery. LECLAIRE BROTHERS 475 Provencher Blvd. in care of arrangements. (204) 775-2220.
