EDITH MAY WHITE It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the death of Edith May White on August 11, 2017. Edith was predeceased by her brother Robert; her sister Jean; and her niece Wendy Giles. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Roy White; her sons Gregory of Winnipeg, John of Cold Lake, Alberta and Darrell of D'arcy, British Columbia; and her granddaughter, Erica White, of Winnipeg. Born in Souris, Manitoba, in 1926 to Fred and Nora Giles, Edith lived at various times in Wapella, Saskatchewan, Carman, Manitoba, Wudil, Nigeria and Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was passionate about many things including needlepoint art and campaigning for the Liberals. She volunteered for thirty years in Recovery at Victoria Hospital, where her contributions were greatly appreciated. She was much loved by her family and everyone who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 603 Wellington Crescent, on September 16 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please do as our mother did and make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Dear Roy and family. I was so happy to have had the little visit with Edith before she left the lake. We were all saddened to hear of her passing. Our love, hugs and prayers go out to you all.
