WALTER M. BOHONOS Characteristically punctual or a wee bit early, Walter has been greeted in heaven by St. Peter, his brother Morris, his sister Jean and his parents Annie Petura and Peter Bohonos. The sparring with his brother Morris will have begun immediately sports controversy, better building techniques and yes, Ford versus Pontiac. This loving brotherly rivalry will be understood by Morris's wife Janis, son Mark (wife Dolores, son Cole), daughter Carleen (husband David Easter, sons Colton and Parker). Having lived with this brotherly competition longer was his late sister Jean from Arnold, Pa., U.S.A. (husband John deceased), Jean's family, daughter Jo-Ann (husband Philip Polivka, sons Stephen and Jonathon, nephew John (wife Phyllis), and nephew Joseph (wife Cynthia, sons Arron and David), many nephews and nieces will share in the memoires of Uncle Walter's fastidious nature. Walter married Sylvia Rehaluk. Their lives complemented each other in many ways teaching, similar sports, travel, even white cars. Together they covered many miles via running shoes over land, air and sea. Each mile a wonderful memory! Where has the time gone? Education has been a life long career. Walter began teaching at the age of sixteen in a multi graded school with thirty-four students. His favourite subjects were mathematics and geography. Walter's excuse for travel was to bring geography back to his students. Secretly, Walter loved flying and should have been a pilot. All sporting activities were enjoyed. Walter recalled making his own skates. In his youth he played baseball and did receive an invitation to training camp in Florida. Curling was preferred to golf. The reason being that snow shovelling did not require the same precision that grass cutting did. Music was Walter's absolute solace. He listened for hours. Throughout his travels he collected records, tapes and CD's. The daily news, newspapers and computer kept him informed of world events. He had strong opinions, but rarely shared them, believing that everyone had a right to his own opinions. "I do the best I know how, the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing it to the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me will not amount to anything. If the end brings me out all wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference." Abraham Lincoln Funeral services for Walter will be held at St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt Street, on Monday, August 21, 2017 ,at 10:00 a.m. As per Walter's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to a children's charity of one's own choice. Chapel Lawn, www.chapellawn.ca, 204-885-9715
