JOYCE EILEEN NECHWEDIUK (nee WIESNER) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Joyce Nechwediuk, at Riverview Health Centre on Friday, August 11, 2017, at the age of 83 years. Joyce will be sadly missed by her daughter, Iris Treichel (Lyle Scammell) and her sons, Ralph (Lilly), Stephen (Jean Bielinski), Alan (Sandra) and Don (Ronaye Ireland). She will also be missed by her sisters, Kathy Liston and Shirley Ann Morrison (Jack); sisters-in-law, Marilyn Smelski (Walter) and Jean Wiesner; brother-in-law Bill Karlicki; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Trisha, Jesse, Tina, David, Matthew and Marnie; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1992; her parents, Catharina and Emil Wiesner; sisters, Beverly Miller and Janice Juenke and her brothers Harold and Wayne. On November 15, 1933, Joyce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. On August 12, 1950, she married John Nechwediuk and moved to Sandy Lake, Manitoba. Mom loved people and enjoyed working at the Sandy Lake Personal Care Home for almost 20 years. Above all else, she loved her family and the many visits with them. She enjoyed traveling and the many trips she went on with family members. A Graveside Service will be held for Mom in the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Sandy Lake, Manitoba on Monday, September 4, 2017 at 9:00 a.m., with Pastor Don Engel, officiating. We would like to thank Dr. Buchel, the staff at Prairie Trail at the Oaks and the Palliative Care Staff at both WRHA and Riverview Health Centre for their wonderful care of Mom during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4, or a charity of your choice.
