WALTER BOYCHUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Boychuk on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on August 3, 1935 in Glenella, Manitoba and grew up on the family farm before moving to Winnipeg in 1958. He was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Mary Boychuk. Remaining to cherish Walter's memory are his wife of 44 years, Alice; his sons Matthew and Mark, his brother John (Gloria), and sisters Elsie (Elmer) Henderson and Nancy (Bob) Grodzik. He also leaves to mourn his brothers-in-law Christer, Sigurd and John; sister-in-law Kristina, numerous nephews and nieces, and extended family in Sweden. Walter will always be remembered as a quiet, patient and caring person for whom family was most important, as evidenced by the special relationship he had with his son Mark. He was a very hard working man always ready to provide a helping hand for anyone who might need it. Walter was an avid sports fan, a passionate supporter of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Jets, and an accomplished curler. In keeping with Walter's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
