Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBESSIE (BETTY) VICTORIA SKOROPATA Passed away at the Portage District Hospital on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Betty was born November 8, 1926 at Portage la Prairie, MB. She grew up in the Westbourne/Langruth District. She received her education at Langruth School, and then went to work in Winnipeg. After her marriage to Peter, they farmed in the Langruth area. In 1992, Peter passed away and Betty remained on the farm for a few years before moving to town. She later moved to Portage and has made her home at Regency Towers for several years. While residing in Langruth, Betty was active in many community activities, as well as the Langruth Royal Purple and Legion. Betty was predeceased by her parents; husband Peter, and sister Noreita. Left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Ivan (Sharon) of Portage la Prairie, Dennis (Theresa) of Ashern, Delbert (Donna) of Govan, SK, and Wesley (Arlene) of Vermillion Bay, ON; one brother Charles (Sharon) Buchan of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Langruth Community Hall with Phyllis Thordarson officiating. Interment will follow at the Langruth Cemetery.
