MICHAEL DONALD SYMAK Peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2017, Michael Donald Symak made his journey to join his wife Anita in heaven. Left to honour and remember Mike are sons Michael and Chris, and grandchildren Hayley, Denyne, Dominic, Paul, Brianne and Chantal. He was predeceased by his wife Anita, of 55 years of marriage, in 2016. On August 28, 1940 Mike was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and grew up in Hamilton. Upon joining the R.C.A.F., he made his way to Rivers, Manitoba where he met and married Anita in 1961. After an honourable discharge, Mike worked for R.C.A. for most of his career, and then took a position with the Legionnaires after his retirement from R.C.A. Mike was an honest, hardworking, family man and was extremely dedicated to family, work and church. Especially when Anita started to lose her battle, he was there constantly at her side. His way was quiet and thoughtful, and most of all, honest. Always there beside Anita to raise the kids, be with family, attend church and hug his grandkids, Mike was that "bear" that everybody liked to poke. You will be missed. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 320 St. Charles Street. The family would like to thank everybody at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care for their care and concern for Dad when he needed it most.
