Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE JOAN CLAPHAM It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Clapham. After a long and brave fight with cancer Joyce passed away peacefully in the morning of August 18, 2017 at the Campbell River, BC hospital. She was 66 years young at her passing and loved life. Joyce was born in Winnipeg on October 22, 1950 and spent most of her life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, West Fargo, North Dakota and the last five years in Courtenay, BC. She loved life, people and her "precious animals". Joyce owned Artistic Reflections wildlife art gallery and much of her working career was spent in the hospitality industry. Her life was dedicated to the care of animals. Her poodles were always a big part of her life. Joyce lived in a loving marriage with her husband Bruce for 33 years and he will truly miss the good times they shared. Joyce loved and cherished her two stepsons and their wives, Kyle (Nina) of Surrey, and Brad (Lisa) and granddaughter Olivia of Dallas, Texas. Joyce leaves in passing her beloved father Steve Kachur, 97 years old, and her brother Jim, both of Winnipeg, nephew Shane Kachur of Burlington, ON, niece Kim Kachur of Vancouver, BC, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Joyce was predeceased by her mother Mary Kachur (Prokop). Sister-in-law Lorraine (best friend extraordinaire) is left with a broken heart... these two shared a special and everlasting love and devotion to each other. Joyce's personality was always upbeat, positive and infectious. Everyone that met her never forgot the contact. She had the ability to change the atmosphere in a room or the character of an event just by her association. Many, many will miss her. Life was taken from this beautiful person far too soon. May she rest in peace after her long fight. We all love you, and know we now have a very special angel watching over us. There will be a celebration of Joyce's life at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg at 2:00 p.m., Friday September 22, 2017. Flowers are gratefully declined, but for those that wish to donate in her name please do so to your favourite SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society. Lawrie and I only knew Joyce for the past six years or so. She made such a wonderful impact in our lives, how could she not? Joyce was the epitome of a gracious and lovely woman. She found joy in almost everything; a beautiful day, the smile of someone, whether she had known them for a minute or a lifetime, a new spicy food, a favourite beer, one of the very many "precious" animals that Joyce would adopt on sight. You get the picture. She always had a great big smile and a hug for us, it was so wonderful. When you were with Joyce everything felt just right. We will miss her in so many ways. Love to Bruce, Steve, Jim and Lacey Jane and of course to all the rest of the family. We miss you so very much💔 - Posted by: Mary Ann & Lawrie McIntyre (Friends) on: Sep 22, 2017

Deepest sympathy to Bruce and family. I remember Joyce selling us some exceptional prints when we all resided in Winnipeg. I remember here as a intelligent, pleasant and knowledgeable individual.
