Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILIAN MAY NORTHWOOD 1921 - 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother at Vista Park Lodge on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the age of 96. Lil is survived by her four children: Val Albo, Ken (Brenda) Northwood, Glynis Northwood, and Donna (Doug) Smith; her grandchildren: Derek (Bonnie) Albo, Lora (Denis) Gorman, Ivan (Shelly) Northwood, Adam (Brandi) Northwood, Mandy (Chris) Lavallee, Brittany Northwood (Cal), Kaitlyn Smith, John Smith, Ken and Linda Nile, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Ernie, daughter Irene Nile, son-in-law Bob Albo, and her family in England. Mom was born in England and came to Canada in 1945 as an English war bride. She lived most of her life in St. Vital where she and Dad happily raised their five children. She was known for her beautiful knitting and many babies came home from the hospital wearing her creations. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She loved to host family and friends at parties where many English games were played. Who can forget Ring on the String, or Orky Snorky? Great memories. I always remember Aunt Lily, making the best bacon sandwiches, showing love and giggles when visiting, and spoiling my grandchildren with goodies and comics, (which we still have) when they were young, while visiting Winnipeg. I'm so glad I had a lovely visit with her a few years ago, showing always, love and warmth, and photos, and giggles. You are safe with your brothers, Roy, Laurie and sister Betty, now, I'm sure having giggles.
