AMELIA (BILLIE) INGRAM
Date of Passing: Sep 12, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAMELIA (BILLIE) INGRAM 1922 - 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing on September 12, 2017 of our mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother (GG) who has gone to be with her beloved Stan. Also there to meet her on the other side are her mother Lydia; father Jacob; sisters, Regina, Katie, Mary, Sophie; brothers, Jake and Frank; and son-in-law Gerry. She leaves behind her daughter Sandie and son Bill (Joni); grandchildren, Andrea (Wally), Erin (Francesco), Jordan (Adrienne), Stefanie (Mark) and great-grandchildren, Aidan and Eva. Also mourning her loss are sisters, Veronica (Harold), Agnes (Ed) and sisters-in-law, Eleanora and Jean, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom spent a good many years as hostess at the Paddock, which in its day was "THE" place to gather. Many of our fair city's hockey, football and media personalities of the day enjoyed coming in to kibbutz with the bubbly Billie, who always remembered their favourite tables and made them feel at home. After Billie retired, she loved to bake and entertain her family and many friends. She was an excellent cook, loved to knit and was especially talented at needlepoint. More importantly, she loved the warm summer days working in the garden with the love of her life, Stan, followed by their 3:00 p.m. happy hour sitting on the deck swing and watching the lazy Assiniboine River go by; their faithful companion Amber always by their side. Life was good. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to do so, a donation may be made in Billie's memory to the Alzheimer Society or Winnipeg Humane Society. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the 4th Floor Personal Care Centre staff at Lions Manor. Over the past five years, Mom received wonderful and compassionate care and we are all so grateful for their kindness to her. Rest in eternal peace Mom. We will miss you always. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
