Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMMA NICHOLSON June 12, 1930 - September 16, 2017 The family of Emma Nicholson (nee Terre) are saddened to announce her sudden passing on Saturday, September 16, 2017. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jack (Jean Paul), of 65 years (September 2); her children, Lloyd (Shirley), David (Heather) and Debi (Michael) Wilson; and her grandchildren, Tyler, Sara, Carly (Dan), Alexandria and Darrell who adored their Grandma and Nana! Emma was born in Altario, Alberta to Procina and John Terre and grew up in St. Paul, AB. She is fondly remembered by her sister Anne, brothers Adolph (Claire), Alex (Mary), and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed her quick wit and sense of humour. She had such a special bond with her sisters, Mary, Anne, and especially Lorraine. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Lorraine and Mary, brother John, and brothers-in-law, John and Steve. Jack and Emma met at a party in the early 1950s and when we asked Dad, "what attracted you to Mom?" He said "she was the prettiest girl in the room!" and he picked her up for their first date with a horse and cart! Mom loved and lived for her children and family. Nothing made her happier than to have us all over for dinners and the laughter that ensued. She could keep up with the best of us in wit and fun. She made sure the grandchildren came to decorate Easter eggs every year. She had sleepovers constantly with them, sometimes all of them on the same evening! She had such energy. Every grandchild had a special birthday cake made by Grandma. Each of us could count on Mom and Dad for help of any kind, whether staining fence boards, helping to move, babysitting sick grandkids, or sharing her latest "big win" at bingo! They were there for their family and all of us so loved and appreciated them. She was quick witted to the end, verbally sparring with David about his favourite quarterback just minutes before she passed, getting in that last poke. The family would like to send their thanks and appreciation to neighbours and friends who have helped Mom out with rides to church, bingo, and yard care as well. She was loved and will be lovingly remembered forever. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren: Tyler, Sara, Carly, (Dan), Alex and Darrell. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. I was very sorry to hear about Aunty Emma. When I think of Aunty Emma it is always with a smile....as a kid, I was always happy to hear that Aunty Emma was coming to visit. That meant a few laughs, and usually something out of the ordinary seemed to happen. Many fond memories of the three sisters....Anne, Mary and Emma...mainly getting ready for bingo or reminiscing the old days when they were kids. My sincere condolences to Uncle Jack, Lloyd, David and Debbie and the rest of the family. We will miss her. - Posted by: carolyn mandrusiak (niece) on: Sep 20, 2017
