Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH TOLKS Elizabeth passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the age of 102 with her granddaughters, Tamara and Krista holding her hands. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Mikelis in 1984. Left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Mara, Laima (Wayne), Ruta (Kirke); her granddaughters, Tamara (Luc), Krista, Michaela, Rebecka and her great-granddaughter Ellie. Mom was born in Liepaja, Latvia and immigrated to Canada after the war. She lived most of her life in St. Vital, Winnipeg where her and dad raised their family. Mom was an active member in both the Winnipeg Latvian Community and in the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff of 5B at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care shown to our mother during her final week with us. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 Winakwa Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2J 1E7.
