Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT DAVID (BOB) TOTTLE September 19, 1946 - April 1, 2017 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our cousin Bob on April 1, 2017. His premature passing was due to an unsuccessful intervention associated with a serious medical condition. It was a shock to all. Robert David Tottle was born on Wednesday, September 19, 1946, a second son to Ray and Isabel (Pieri) Tottle and a younger brother for Douglas. He grew up in St. James with his family on Whytewold Road. Bob was predeceased, also prematurely, by his mom and his older brother Doug. His father Ray passed much later in 2005 and was lovingly supported in the Maples Personal Care Home by Bob. Bob leaves behind many cousins; his beloved niece Lucia and his one remaining aunt Evelyn in Ontario. Bob had a full career working for the city's Refuse Department and for many years, things were always picking up for Bob. As he wore out, Bob was promoted to a Weighmaster at Brady Landfill where his friendly, people loving chatter bode him well. True to his family roots, Bob was active in CUPE, the City of Winnipeg's major union, and whenever required, was an eager representative. Bob loved three things passionately ... bowling, his car and South Beach Casino, where he also met and made several long-term friends. When he retired, he fulfilled a dream and visited England and Tottle family roots ... recollections of that trip always brought forth large smiles. After a stroke, Bob retired to the familiar Maples Personal Care Home, where he resided for his last nine years. Much thanks to the staff there and to his respite worker John, for the selfless support they offered him there. Special gratitude is also extended to his Calgary cousin Donna Tyreman for the nine years of committed care she provided. Bob's remains will be interred with his fathers, at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, at a small graveside memorial to be held for him on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

My condolances to all of Bob's family. The obituary was beautifully composed and shows all of your love and care for him. I taught mathematics to Bob and his classmates during my 1st few years at Silver Heights Collegiate. I always remember Bob as a student dedicated to the task of learning and as a person you could always count on for a smile and a great attitude towards life. He was very special in so many ways. It is good to know that he had a positive career and so many happy times in his life. You have obviously been a very fine and supportive family who contributed well for that to have taken place. And, I thank you Bob, for all you contributed in helping me to learn and grow. Gary Hamilton - Posted by: Gary Hamilton (Teacher) on: Oct 02, 2017
