GEORGE MARINO FREDERICKSON May 16, 1939 - September 20, 2017 Peacefully, at Victoria General Hospital, George passed away after living with the slow decline of Lewy Body Dementia. Eldest son of Margaret and Marno, he will be missed but never forgotten by his wife of 56 years, Carol, his two sons David and Phillip and their families, and all who had the pleasure to call him Afi, brother, uncle, colleague, friend. George, a student at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, the Universities of Minnesota and Manitoba, was an Architect in Winnipeg for his career. Working at first with several prominent firms and partnerships, he eventually went into private practice, where he productively worked for many years and finally retired in 2006. A cottage owner his whole life, George would love nothing more than to sit on the porch in Ponemah and enjoy the lake view while sipping coffee, reading and skillfully completing the Times crossword puzzle. Always the avid traveller, George and Carol had countless memorable journeys with friends and family. Later becoming involved with the Friendship Force travelling to exotic locales as well as hosting travellers from far away places. George had the energy and personality to fill a room, with his boisterous laugh, quick wit, and great story telling, he was a real addition to any get-together. So long George, we all will miss your in-depth discussions, good nature and sense of humour. Enjoy happy hour at your new place. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Victoria General Hospital and Poseiden Long Term Care Facility. According to George's wishes cremation has already taken place.
