NESTER HRISHKEWICH February 12, 1932 - September 29, 2017 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Nester Hrishkewich on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Pinawa Hospital, at the age of 85. Nester was a professional photographer for 35 years. He achieved acclaim from his peers and success with his clients. Nester was a dedicated and loving father of four children. We had many beautiful and loving experiences together. Nester's passions were hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry, stonework and many other outdoor activities. His sharp shooting sometimes found him on a pool table or skinning a moose. He spent most of his time exploring Nopiming Park and settled at Flanders Lake. For many years, Nester was the Mayor of Flanders Lake and was loved by all. Nester is survived by his children Phillip (Josie), Daniel, Sylvia (Gil), and his grandchildren Mike, René and Jasper, cousins and many friends. Nester was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia, and wife Adeline. A celebration of Nester's life will be held at Flanders Lake, Block 4, Lot 5 on Saturday, October 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All friends are welcome. Always loved, Never Forgotten, Forever missed. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Condolences to Phillip, Danny and the rest of the family. Your Dad was a great friend and neighbor to us in the years we were at Flanders. We learned all we know about lake life, from blueberries to mushrooms to great fishing lakes from him. His shore lunches were legendary. He will be missed. • Nestor will be truly missed! We hunted, fished (canned), picked mushrooms (cleaned into the night) and picked the best blue berries ever. Great memories. Our sincere condolences to the family and thank you for sharing your father with us. Helen & Family - Posted by: Helen & Family ( Friend!) on: Oct 05, 2017

  • My condolences to the family. I was saddened to hear of Nester's passing. Some of my fondest memories are with him. Fishing at Black Lake. Deer hunting in Western Manitoba. Snowmobiling. So many memories. One thing will live on that I got from Nester. Eggs with cauliflower and cheese has become breakfast tradition fort special days. Rest easy my friend. - Posted by: Don Doherty (Friend) on: Oct 04, 2017
