THERESIA (RESI) GUTWEIN Theresia (Resi) Gutwein (nee Perz) peacefully on October 3, 2017 at Concordia Hospital, passed away at the age of 91 just days short of her 92nd birthday. She will be lovingly remembered and her life will be celebrated by her children, Robert (Wendy), Linda (Gord), Edward (Kathy); her grandchildren, Tamara (John), Bob Jr. (Jacque) and great-grandchildren, Jackson, McKenna, Bobby and Elise. Lovingly remembered by her sisters, Annie, Erna, as well as her many nieces, nephews and other family members in Austria and Canada. She was predeceased by her parents, Alois and Maria Perz and her sister Maria Hoppenheit. Theresia was born on October 15, 1925 in the diocese Laibach, Slovenia. She moved with her family to Austria and subsequently left Austria in 1948 and moved to Canada where she became a proud Canadian citizen in 1955. The majority of her work life was with the Concordia Hospital and she retired in October, 1990. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran church where she participated on many committees and enjoyed a wonderful church life. Her family was her life, her pride, and her joy. She was delighted to have enjoyed quality time with her grandchildren and her great- grandchildren. She leaves us all with many happy memories and we are truly blessed to celebrate her life well lived. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Donwood Manor for the great care they gave to our mom while she was a resident there on Two South. Also, thanks to the staff at the Concordia Hospital and to Dr. Carl Duerksen for the care given at times of need and at the end of her life. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12 at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Avenue, Winnipeg. Viewing will be held Wednesday October 11, at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Theresia's memory to Grace Lutheran Church or to Donwood Manor, 171 Donwood Dr., Winnipeg, R2G 0V9.
