They raised their family in the town of Stonewall, where Bob/Dad became involved with many community organizations: The Kinsmen Club of Stonewall, of which he was presented with a Life Membership, Church of the Ascension (Anglican), IOOF, Stonewall-Rockwood Fire and Ambulance. In 1982, he moved to Castlegar, BC, where he acquired a position as Fire Chief and Director of the BC Fire Chief's Association from 1982 to 1991. He returned home to his community of Stonewall in 2007, for family and retirement. Bob/Dad loved camping and fishing at Falcon Lake, golfing at Teulon and riding horses, nothing better than a rodeo (one hand on the bull and the other waving his hat). It's very late I know, but I just seen this. My father, Wayne McIntosh (Big Mack) was friends with Bob. I have many fond memories of him. My condolences go out to the family. - Posted by: Roger McIntosh (Friend) on: Sep 03, 2022

Bob was influential in my life as a young teenager growing up in Stonewall. Our family spent many memorable vacations with Bob, Lynn, Brad, Bambi and Heidi. I fondly remember exchanging pancake breakfasts after church, at the Mann's or at our place. Bob was always providing life lessons, mentoring those around him and sharing his point of view. His sly grin as he made me ponder what he just taught me is the image I will remember him by. Distance from Stonewall to Vancouver may have caused some drifting away of regular contact, but the Mann family are dear to my heart. My condolences to you all, With love, Kevin - Posted by: Kevin Evancic (Family Friend) on: Oct 11, 2017
