JACQUELINE MARIE LALIBERTE (nee REMPEL) It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Jacqueline Marie Laliberté on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the young age of 52. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 28 years, Buddy, her children Darryl (Amy) and Cody, grandchildren Gabriel, Clementine and a soon-to-be-born third grandchild, her mother Jeannette, brother Russ (Marie), in-laws Bud and Diana, Dan (Nadine), nieces and nephews Kyle, Kara, Robert (Ashley), Chantal (Derek), Mélanie (Luis), Liel, Joé, Amber and Avery, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jacqueline was predeceased by her father Jake just six short weeks before, and her grandparents. Jac was born on March 31, 1965 in Winnipeg and later moved to Ile des Chenes, where she spent most of her childhood. After meeting and marrying Buddy, they moved into their home in Lorette, MB to raise their children Darryl and Cody. During these years, while raising two young children, Jacqueline managed to earn her nursing diploma, eventually becoming a registered nurse. She worked at many different facilities - Tuxedo Villa, Family Medical Centre, Ste. Anne Hospital, and finally in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. She loved nursing and worked very hard at being the best nurse she could be. Her many friends and colleagues in the medical profession would attest to her professionalism and dedication. Illness prevented her from continuing in her profession as long as she would have liked. Jac always saw what needed to be done, and regardless of what the task, did it, expecting nothing in return. Toward the end of her life, and as her health declined, she never complained, rather she focused on what she was able to do, and did it. As she found herself with more time at home, she discovered baking. Cookies poured out of her kitchen. She deeply loved her husband, children and grandchildren. Her phone was overflowing with pictures of them. Her time with them was much too brief. Thanks to the many doctors, nurses and unit assistants at the Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare Manitoba and the Ste. Anne Hospital for the excellent care they provided. Funeral services for Jacqueline will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
