RITSUKO ITO Ritz was born in Vancouver, BC and relocated with her family to Winnipeg in 1942, with the exception of a five year stint living in Thunder Bay, she spent her adult life in Winnipeg. Ritz was predeceased by her first husband Mel Sakiyama; her mother and father, Misuyo and Kanzo Kurushima; her brother-in-law Jimmy Durkin and her brother Peter Kurushima. Ritz is survived by her husband of 54 years, Tosh and her daughters, Karen (Gary), Lynn (Glen); granddaughters, Devin and Erin (Liam). She is survived by her sisters, Kyoko and Reiko; as well as her brother Tsugio (Susan). Also feeling the loss of their beloved auntie, is a large family of nieces and nephews located from Victoria, BC, through Saskatchewan and Pennsylvania all the way to Helsinki, Finland. Ritz was a lovely mother, wife, home-maker and career woman. She loved any and all the time spent with her family. She was particularly good at hosting parties (and there have been many) and she enjoyed her work with the City of Winnipeg. She is easily described as meticulous in her work, her sewing, her record-keeping and her appearance. She never turned down an opportunity to travel, dance, cook and workout. She will be remembered as being kind, loving, thoughtful and for having a beautiful smile that could light up any room. Cremation has taken place and as Ritz wished, a small private family gathering has been held in celebration of her life. The family wishes to thank the staff of Cornish 5 at Misericordia Interim Care. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to: www.thomsoninthepark.com

Dear Karen, Gary and family, my deepest condolence to you, so sad to hear the news of Ritz’s passing. She is always remembered and missed, such a lovely lady to remember of. We all had the privilege to be the teams of her care-givers. I appreciate the opportunity to have met and given care for Ritz, to get to know her and her lovely family. You are just like your mom, the most positive, kind and generous people...Ritz forever lives in your heart. - Posted by: Ching (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2017
