Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA DESAUTELS (née LECLAIRE) Paisiblement le 14 octobre, 2017, à l'hôpital de Ste-Anne-des-Chênes, Alma s'est endormie pour ensuite se réveillée dans les bras du Seigneur. Sa présence nous manquera énormément. Peacefully, on October 14, 2017, at Ste-Anne-des-Chênes Hospital, Alma fell asleep to wake up in God's arms. Her presence will be missed by many. Alma was born in Willard, MB on February 8, 1927 to Pierre and Marie-Rose (d'Auteuil) Leclaire, and lived on the farm until she met the love of her life, René; and they married on August 28, 1946. Mom and Dad had a happy life in Lorette raising their two children, Jeannine and Louis. Mom kept busy being a loving mother and wife, and also used her many skills and talents, especially by being an excellent seamstress, doing a variety of crafts, and growing plants and flowers both inside and outside of her home. Until her last days, she remained concerned about the welfare of her plants. Mom devoted many years to the expansion and promotion of the French language and culture in her community. She presided over the Cultural Committee locally (Club des Blés d'or), worked for the French Seniors' group (FAFM/SFM), and she loved to participate in the Senior activities during the Festival du Voyageur. Alma lived in her house until 2014, when she moved to the Pavilion at the Villa Youville in Ste-Anne. After an adaptation period, she found a new happiness by receiving the help she needed at this time of her life. She was now able to concentrate on her sewing, making various pieces, or doing alterations for those who requested them. She also had a small area near her room where, with the help of her "girls", she tended to her dear plants. A very special thank you to the home care staff that helped Mom and made her happy in her last days. Alma will be sadly missed by her children, Jeannine (Allen Porteous) and Louis (Shelley); grandchildren, Robert (Kim), Ginette, Joanne (Jeff Glenn), Joel, Lynne and David (Kali), as well as her great-grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Colin, Jamie, Logan, Avery, Myla, Shaeli and Liam. Also left to mourn are her brother Denis (Mae), her sisters, Louisa (Donat), Anna, Diane, and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul (Win), Fern (Rose), Laurette (Leo) and Bonnie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband René in 2009; as well as by her parents Pierre and Marie Rose Leclaire; her brothers Joel, Octave and René; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Léandre and Rose (Gendron) Desautels, Edmond, Albert, Philippe, George, and Marianne. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Church. Father Armand Le Gal, o.m.i., will officiate. A private interment of Alma's cremated remains will take place in the Lorette Cemetery at a later date. LECLAIRE BROTHERS 475 Provencher Blvd. In care of arrangements, 204-775-2220
