SARAH MARIE IBRAHIM February 1, 1996 - October 12, 2017 With broken hearts, we announce the untimely passing of our dearest Sarah, at the tender age of 21, on October 12, 2017. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her parents Mustafa and Jennifer (nee Trann), twin sister Jasmine, and brother Adam. Sarah is also survived by her grandparents, Halima Mumin Magan, Judy and Paul Doyle, and Richard Trann, godparents Bayne and Mary Robertson, uncles Stephen and Michael Doyle, Farhan, Adam and Rooble Ibrahim, aunts, Shamis, Europe (Hibo) and Faduma Ibrahim, Jessica, Emily and Kate Trann, as well as great-grandfather Alvin Trann. Sarah was predeceased by her grandfather Mohamed Ibrahim, and great-grandparents Tom and Fabiola Grafton, and Beatrix Trann. Sarah will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends, as well as her new puppy Maisie. Sarah entered this world on the coldest day of the year on February 1, 1996. She was a sweet girl who learned to walk by nine months and was active ever since. Sarah began school at Ecole Riverview, moved to Ecole Varennes and graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate in 2014. Recently, she was working to achieve her Bachelor of Commerce in Economics at the University of Manitoba. Sarah enjoyed being active and spent a lot of time at the YMCA as a young girl, playing soccer with Bonivital and spending four years alongside her sister as a member of the Manitoba provincial basketball team, culminating in a bronze medal at the 2013 Canada Summer Games. Sarah made friends wherever she went with her warm smile, infectious laugh and compassionate attitude. She volunteered her time at a pet rescue shelter and as a mentor for young girls new to Canada. Sarah had a heart of gold, she was beautiful inside and out, was hard working, loyal, smart and never gave up on her goals. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and hanging out with Jasmine and Adam and the rest of her family and friends, and her pets Ali and Maisie. She had a great sense of humour, without even knowing it, and a flair for fashion. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Church at the corner of Lanark Street and St. Brebeuf Place in River Heights. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to NEEDs Inc., CAARE Rescue, Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, or a charity of your choice.
